YWCA NorthEastern NY is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, advocating for social justice, supporting families, and fortifying communities. As one of the nation’s oldest and most expansive women’s organizations, we serve over 7,000 individuals and families yearly. At YWCA, our commitment is unwavering: we strive to eliminate racism and empower women. We persist in our efforts until injustice is eradicated, and institutions are reformed to view all individuals as we do: Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable.

Thank you for joining the 2024 Racial Justice Challenge. This is a unique learning community that provides 21 days of curated content that includes articles, videos, activities, and podcasts to help individuals, organizations, and communities across the country learn more about how racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression impact the world around us. We encourage you to progress through the program at your own pace, engage with your network in meaningful conversations, and take action in your communities.

What does this challenge look like? Each week, you will receive challenge items pertaining to that week’s topic to complete throughout the week sent directly to your inbox. Challenge items will include reading articles, listening to podcasts, and watching videos because every movement starts with education and awareness. At the end of each week, you will receive an email with a survey or questionnaire to discuss what you thought about that weeks challenge items as well as action steps you can take to move our mission forward by helping others AND yourself!

Over the four weeks in April, we will cover the topics below:

  • Bodily Autonomy
  • Women’s Financial Empowerment/Caregiving
  • Gun Violence
  • Transportation

        ELIMINATING RACISM.
        EMPOWERING WOMEN.

Our mission lives in the soul of everyone at YWCA,
because we demand a world of equity and human decency.
