Family Court Advocates

Family Court Advocates offer support to clients affected by intimate partner violence in navigating the Family Court system. We assist with filing orders of protection, custody, visitation, and support petitions, and can accompany you to court proceedings. This includes:

  • Filing orders of protection
  • Custody/visitation support paperwork
  • Family Court accompaniment

Police Department Advocates

Police Department Advocates provide support to clients of intimate partner violence and navigate the criminal justice system, whether that be assistance filing a report, attending court, law enforcement interviews or contact with the District Attorney’s office. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Calling/following up on DIR’s (domestic incident reports)

  • Tracking warrants

  • Responding with local law enforcement on scene

  • Stamping DIR’s

  • Court accompaniment

Child Protective Services Advocates

CPS advocates provide support in family court matters, including filing petitions and attending court appearances. They can also accompany CPS caseworkers on home visits to effectively advocate on your behalf. Other responsibilities include:

  • Filing orders of protection
  • Custody/visitation and support petitions
  • Accompaniment all court appearances if needed
