January is Stalking Awareness Month.

As the lead domestic violence agency in Schenectady, we work with victims of stalking every day. Stalking Awareness Month is a time to raise our voices against stalking and demand safety and justice for victims.

Throughout this month we take to social media using SPARC’s 2023 Stalking Awareness Month social media toolkit. We would encourage you to raise awareness by doing the same.

Know it. Name it. Stop it.

We are partnering with the Stalking Prevention Awareness and Resource Center (SPARC) to present Know it. Name it. Stop it.

Experienced trainer Dana Fleitman’s training will show how stalking is a serious, prevalent, and dangerous crime that impacts every community in the United States. While awareness and public discussion of intimate partner violence and sexual assault have increased in recent years, stalking remains frequently misunderstood and rarely discussed – on campuses, within the fields of domestic and sexual violence, in our criminal justice system, and among the broader general public. This webinar highlights strategies and tools to create and elevate discourse on stalking.
This virtual webinar will happen on Jan 20th at 10am-12pm and is free and open to the community and providers. We hope to see you there as we all make efforts to Know More and Do More!
