What is Season of Light?
Join us in the Season of Light, where we are embracing and celebrating diversity in all holidays and people.
We challenge our community partners to choose a holiday from the list provided to create an engaging presentation for community members to view. The event will be open December 2nd through January 5th at our Main Campus where over 1000 community members and families from Schenectady and beyond will come through our doors.
Our goal is to showcase all holidays that families are celebrating this season, educate the community, and give spectators a new perspective on how others celebrate this holiday season. All proceeds raised will benefit YWCA’s Holiday Assistance program, supporting the families engaged in our services needing a little extra help this season. In addition, there will be opportunities for YWCA to give back to our community partners during some of the holidays observed this season.
Registration fee: $50 (limit 6ft of space) – registrants must provide their own table
Schools are FREE – please get in touch with Danielle Schimpf at [email protected] to coordinate holiday and set-up time.
Set up will be November 26th – 29th
