THE ANNUAL DAY OF GIVING IS HERE!

32% of women in New York State are victims of domestic violence. For GivingTuesday 2022, our goal is to raise $3,200 to benefit our Youth and Family Violence Prevention Programs. The goal of these programs is to end the cycle of violence in families and among teens in our communities, the vision is a world where 0% of people are victims of domestic violence.

We are asking for your help to get 100 people to make a $32 donation on GivingTuesday this November 29th to help us continue and expand these programs in our communities to help end violence. The first 20 donors on GivingTuesday will receive the 2022 Take Back the Night t-shirt

There are various ways you can support YWCA NorthEastern NY on this day.

Option 1: Join the Donation Challenge

Make a Facebook post on November 29th using the following image and caption:

In honor of the 32% of women who experience domestic violence in New York State, I donated $32 to YWCA NorthEastern NY, the only domestic violence shelter in Schenectady County. #NOMORE

Let’s raise $3,200 together this #GivingTuesday, to help end the cycle of violence. All donations benefit YWCA NENY’s teen and family violence prevention programs in our community!

I challenge the following people to donate, and to challenge 5 others:

Option 2: Fundraiser

Any kind of fundraiser will do. If you create a Facebook fundraiser, feel free to use the following caption:

Today for #GivingTuesday, please join me in supporting YWCA NorthEastern NY and their mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. They offer the only domestic violence shelter in Schenectady County, affordable housing for low-income women, early learning curriculum, and counseling.

YWCA NENY promotes peace, freedom, and dignity for all. Will you join me now in saying #NOMORE to domestic violence and homelessness, and donate to YWCA today?

Option 3: Matching gifts

If you are interested in matching all or some of the donations made during #GivingTuesday to YWCA NENY, please click here to contact Lauren Trunko, Chief Development Officer, and discuss how you would like to help.
